Elizabeth continues to gain respect. Although busy creating new and exciting art for 2008, she still finds time to meet with people from all over in order to maintain a personal approach to her work.

Elizabeth Bollwitt grew up in Eastern Iowa with a traditional mid-western rearing. She studied Computer Graphics at Marycrest College in Davenport Iowa and holds a BA degree in Computer Graphics with a minor in art.
Artist Statement: As an Artist the true inspiration happens while doing the work and not before starting. Anticipation alone gets it done. Not completing what I start would be a waste of spirit but finishing it validates my existence. I look forward to continuing my work which represents me and work to harness the entrepreneurial spirit that is unlimited in possibilities.
In 2000, I started out carving but realized that it was too difficult to reproduce my work. A business man asked me if I could paint. I said yes, but I was thinking no I could not. I stressed over what felt like a lie and labored for about 4 months before going back to this person with my first complete painting in almost 15 years. The painting was “Sunset Flower”. He then asked another simple yet annoying little question. He asked me if I liked my work? I again said yes but was a mess on the inside because I really didn’t know. But today I do know.
Other interest are carving, music and photography. These interest can be seen in my work. Carving defines lines. Music plays with composition. Photograhy is the starting point of capturing an image. What seems real does not always seem so real when photographed. I’ll typically take that “not so real” and build upon it.

“I am new to buying art. And I only have few works to date. In fact I was in Miami and bought your fruit painting. I am no fancy art person. But, I have traveled around the world and been to many museums. And have seen a lot. I thought your style of using dots was unique in some of your paintings. Because, the individual dots made up larger round swirling patterns that you string together to create the form. My description may not be the best. But, when viewed at the proper distance. It has a very flowing effect. That resembles a liquid. Christ's body is good example. Also, how you use colors that may not be true to real life was also interesting. Although, many artist have done that in the past. I like the more abstract quality it brings.” Paul, New York.
